[en] Configuring what's synced with FunnelCake

[en] The three steps below go over how to set up data filtering for your team's FunnelCake.

  1. [en] Create an include in FunnelCake filter. On the Salesforce object that you're looking to apply import filtering to (for example, an Account, Lead, Contact, Opportunity, Task), create a Checkbox custom field with the following info:

    1. [en] Field Label: Include in Funnelcake.

    2. [en] Field Name: Include_in_Funnelcake (the field name must be exactly this).

    3. [en] Default Value: Checked.

  2. [en] Determine what to include/exclude.

[en] Now that this field has been created on the object, you'll need to configure populating it for objects you don't want in FunnelCake. Checked objects will be imported, unchecked objects will not.

[en] We strongly recommend populating the "Include in FunnelCake" checkbox with a workflow/process and not a formula.

[en] A workflow/process will generate a "system modified date" on the object, and let FunnelCake's sync know that the object needs to be re-processed.

[en] A formula won't generate a "system modified date", so FunnelCake won't know to reconsider the object as included/excluded. If you go with this method, when you change the criteria for what's included, you'll either need to batch update the objects or let us know to re-pull your entire data set from scratch.

  3. [en] Let FunnelCake know you've created a data filter.

[en] Contact Support and we'll kick off re-configuring your. We'll need to know the object that you put the Include in Funnelcake filter on (for example, Account, Lead, etc).
