[en] Close Rate uses the Salesforce Close Date to form cohorts. This is primarily used to identify where reps are getting stuck in each month.
[en] Close Rates are calculated as Won/Closed. We don't recommend setting targets based on a Close Rate.
[en] Example
[en] 10 deals were closed in January
[en] 3 were closed won
[en] 7 were closed lost
[en] 3/10 = 30% win rate
[en] Close Rates can easily be inflated because this metric does not account for the number of open deals in your funnel. That means Close Rates can easily be manipulated by leaving opportunities open when they should be closed lost.
[en] This can result in an artificially inflated Close Rate, which affects your ability to plan for future months and quarters since the data you’re working with is potentially misleading about performance.
