Post-calculation optimization
Various calculations run a post-calculation optimization during each full calculation run. This can last longer than the actual computing time of the calculation Itself.
This optimization process becomes redundant if ran on a daily basis, as the impact of such optimization will not be observable in time, while still adding a significant amount of time to the full calculation process.
To identify calculations that run post-calculation optimizations can be identified on the Performance tab.
The performance tab is found in model settings, accessed by clicking the gear
icon in the Admin panel
See the Computation Chart found on this page for calculation information
Recommendation on post-calculation optimization
It is recommended to disable the post-calculation optimization for calculations where the optimization runs slowly.
Replace it with a weekly scheduled optimization.
To disable the post-calculation optimization for a calculation do the following:
Navigate to the Composer module.
From the components list or on the canvas, select the calculation for which you would like to disable post-calculation optimization.
Select Show More in the calculations options.
Select Choose Calculation Method.
From the Choose a calculation method drop down menu, select Disable calculation (engine) optimizations.
