Pre-installation questionnaire

  • Before starting the installation, you must decide what your application infrastructure looks like. You should know how many servers are involved for each installation instance and how many instances you want. For example, do you want a development instance for testing in addition to your production instance? Do you want those instances to be on different servers? A well thought out infrastructure can directly impact Incentives performance.

  • Review the list of supported technology to ensure that your server infrastructure is compatible.

  • Ensure that the user implementing the installation has full admin rights to the servers involved. You'll need administrator privileges to make changes required during the installation process.

  • Ensure that the user implementing the installation has the correct SQL Server permissions. You can review the list here: Microsoft SQL Server database permission and component requirements.

  • Map out how much memory the databases need for storage and satisfactory performance.

  • Decide what features of Incentives you want to install. For example, which version of Sales Portal will you use? If you're using the newest version, you won't need to install Apache Tomcat.
