Exporting data from the Data module
Using Publisher, you can export data from tables in the Data module to another application.
Publishing tables to Microsoft Excel
You can publish data from tables in Varicent Incentives directly to Microsoft Excel files.
From the Data module landing page, find the table that you want to export data from and click the more options menu (...).
Click Export data.
Choose one of the following options:
Option
Description
One Time Publication
Publish the file only once. If you choose this option, you can save the publication to your local computer.
Saved Publication
Saves the file to the server. If you choose this option, you can name and save the publication to run at a later day through the Scheduler module.
Select Microsoft Excel as the destination for the published table.
Click Next.
In the Name field, type the title of the published file.
If you chose to save the publication, in the Prefix field, type any text that you want to add to the file name of the saved publication.
Click Save.
Format the headers.
Click the Cells tab.
Format the cells.
Click Next.
Select one of these locations:
Download publication to a local machine.
This option is only available if you selected One Time Publication in step 4.
Upload publication to server.
In the Publication Path field, you can type the name of a subfolder in the
Publication
directory to which you want to save the publication.
If you are saving the publication, click Next and you can clear the Run this publish now checkbox if you want to save the publication and run it later.
Click Done.
You can download the file from the Downloads page.
Publishing tables to PDF files
You can publish data from your Varicent Incentives model directly to a PDF file.
From the Data module landing page, find the table that you want to export data from and click the more options menu (...).
Click Export data.
Choose one of the following options:

One Time Publication
Publish the file only once. If you choose this option, you can save the publication to your local computer.
Saved Publication
Saves the file to the server. If you choose this option, you can name and save the publication to run at a later day through the Scheduler module.
Select PDF as the destination for the published table.
Click Next.
In the Name field, type the title of the published file.
If you chose to save the publication, in the Prefix field, type any text that you want to add to the file name of the saved publication.
Click Save.
Format the headers.
Click the Cells tab.
Format the cells.
Click Next.
Set the orientation and scaling for the PDF file.
Select the Use header image checkbox to display an image as the header on each PDF file and select the image file from the list.
In the Footer field, type text to be included at the bottom of each page.
Select the Include page numbers checkbox to show page numbers in the footer.
Select the Show total page number checkbox to show the total number of pages in the document along with the current page number.
Click Next.
Select one of these locations:
Download publication to a local machine.
This option is only available if you selected One Time Publication in step 4.
Upload publication to server.
In the Publication Path field, you can type the name of a subfolder in the

directory to which you want to save the publication.

You can publish data from your Varicent Incentives model directly to a text file.
From the Data module landing page, find the table that you want to export data from and click the more options menu (...).
Click Export data.
Choose one of the following options:

Select Text File as the destination for the published table.
Click Next.

Click Save.
Select a delimiter.
Click Next.
Select one of these locations:
Download publication to a local machine.
This option is only available if you selected One Time Publication in step 4.
Upload publication to server.
In the Publication Path field, you can type the name of a subfolder in the
Publication
directory to which you want to save the publication.
If you are saving the publication, click Next and you can clear the Run this publish now checkbox if you want to save the publication and run it later.

Publishing tables to Salesforce.com
You can publish data from your Varicent Incentives model directly to a Salesforce.com table.
In Salesforce.com, perform the following steps:
Select the Setup link.
Click App Setup section.
→ from theSelect New Custom Object, and add the object according to your specifications.
From the Data module landing page, find the table that you want to export data from and click the more options menu (...).
Click Export data.
Choose one of the following options:

Publish the file only once.
Saved Publication
Saves the file to the server. If you choose this option, you can name and save the publication to run at a later day through the Scheduler module.
Select Salesforce.com as the destination for the published table and click Next.
In the Name field, type the title of the published file.
If you chose to save the publication, in the Prefix field, type any text that you want to add to the filename of the saved publication.
Click Save.
Type your user name, password, and security token, then click Connect.
Click Next.
Select the Salesforce.com table to export the data to.
Click Next.
Map the Incentives table columns to the Salesforce.com table columns.
Click Done.
