Adding tasks

In Varicent Incentives, you add tasks to your schedule to carry out certain processes, such as imports, calculations, and calendar locking. A series of tasks make up your schedule and help you to automate your model maintenance.

You can schedule the run frequency for each task that you add to the schedule or you can schedule the run frequency for the entire schedule.

  1. From the Scheduler module → All schedules pane, click the schedule where you want to add a task.

  2. Click + Add task.

  3. From the Type drop-down menu, select the type of task that you want to add.

  4. If required, fill in any additional fields.

    Field options vary based on your task type selection. For example, if you select Calculation as the task type, you need to select a calculation to run. If you select Import, you need to select the Saved import to run.

  5. (Optional) Set a run frequency for the task:

    1. Turn on the Add run toggle.

    2. Choose how often the task runs. Your options are every hour, day, week, month, or year.

    3. Select the time that you want the task to run. Your options vary depending on your selection from step 5b. For example, if you select every hour, you need to choose which minute within that hour to run the task. If you select every year, you need to choose which month, day, and time to run the task.

  6. Click Save.
