Scheduler properties
Global properties set in the Scheduler module apply to all processes unless you have set properties at the process level. You can use these global properties to set the maximum run time for an external tool, stop an external tool after it exceeds the set run time, and send email warnings when the Scheduler module encounters an error or runs successfully.

Configuring global settings in Scheduler
Global settings set in the Scheduler module apply to all processes unless you have specifically chosen to override the global settings for a folder or schedule. You can use these global settings to configure email notifications when scheduled processes complete or fail, error handling behaviors, and maximum runtimes for external tools.
From the Scheduler module, click
Settings.
Under Email notifications, you can turn on all or some of these settings, and then provide the email addresses of the users you wish to notify. Separate multiple email addresses with a comma.
Send email when error occurs - sends an email to the specified email addresses when schedules or tasks complete with errors or fail.
Send email when success occurs - sends an email to the specified email addresses when schedules or tasks completes successfully.
Under Error handling, you can turn on all or some of these settings:
Stop process when error occurs - stops the running the entire schedule if the Scheduler encounters an error while running a task. If this setting is not turned on, the Scheduler will skip the task and move on to the next one.
Retry process when error occurs - retries to run the task after an error occurs. If you turn on this setting, you can also configure the number of retry attempts and the interval between attempts.
Under External tools, you can turn on the Set a maximum run time toggle to set a maximum time that the Scheduler allows an external tool to run.
Type a value or use the up and down arrows in the Maximum run time field to set the time in seconds that the external tool can run.
Turn on the Stop on timeout toggle to stop the external tool from running after it exceeds the maximum run time.
Important
If the external tool is not running on the same computer as the Admin Client, stopping the external tool after the timeout is not guaranteed.
Click Save.
Overwriting global settings
When you configure global settings, these apply to all processes (schedules and folders) within the Scheduler module. You have the option to overwrite these settings for specific schedules or folders when needed. For example, there may be a specific schedule where you want to stop all processes if it encounters an error. You can overwrite the global settings, which in this example, allow the scheduled processes to continue, and configure settings at the schedule level to behave differently.
Note
If you don't configure settings for folders and sub-folders within a schedule, they inherit the settings of the higher-level schedule or folder. If you don't configure settings for schedules, they inherit the global settings.
Configuring settings at the schedule level
You can choose to overwrite global settings and configure settings at the schedule level. All folders within this schedule inherit these settings, unless settings are configured at the folder level.
From the Scheduler module → All schedules pane, click the schedule you want to configure settings for.
Click the More options menu (...) and then click Edit.
Click the Settings tab.
Turn on the Overwrite global Scheduler settings toggle. This overwrites the settings set at the global Scheduer level and lets you configure settings for this specific schedule.
Under Email notifications, you can turn on all or some of these settings, and then provide the email addresses of the users you wish to notify. Separate multiple email addresses with a comma.
Send email when error occurs - sends an email to the specified email addresses when schedules or tasks complete with errors or fail.

Click the More options menu on the folder you want to configure settings for (...) and then click Edit.
Click the Settings tab.
Turn on the Overwrite global Scheduler settings toggle. This overwrites the settings set at the global Scheduer level and lets you configure settings for this specific schedule.
